Narangala

Pepper Hikes

A Blend of Nature and History

Narangala Mountain, the second-highest in Uva Province after Namunukula, is not just a trekking destination but a place rich in history and legend. With its peak resembling the shape of a fruit, it has been linked to Sri Lanka’s ancient past, including stories of the Buddha’s visit to Mahiyangana and King Valagamba’s escape from foreign invaders. The climb to the summit offers stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding region, and the area is also home to important archaeological sites. Narangala is an ideal destination for adventurers and history enthusiasts alike.
